Namaste Cases

September 10, 2015--I like needlepointing in the car and found it difficult to have tools at my fingertips.  Attaching them with magnets to a metal board worked well, but then had to insert the whole board into a bag to keep the items from detaching themselves when put away.

Then I found these delightful Namaste magnetic cases.  I purchased two in the eggplant color--one large for traveling, the other to keep the "smalls" in one place while in my happy chair at home.  The large one is perfect.  I'm able to place many tools in the bottom section of the case and keep my needles nicely organized and protected under the flap in the top portion.

PS  The needle guide attached to the insert of the large case is from The Needle Index, 1996 Valley Quail Chapter, EGA Walnut Creek, CA

  1. I've been looking at these for a while. I wouldn't mind getting one if I can get it from a store in Canada.

  2. Amazing that you can stitch in a car! Do you stitch only certain types of pieces? But if you are going to do it, those look ideal. Do you use a lap stand or just hold the piece? And, I just grab a needle. Do you really go exactly by the chart? How would it make a difference to use a different size? Safe travels! Are you heading to seminar? Melita

  3. Hi Melita. Yes, I can stitch in the car. I keep to small projects on stretcher bars and use my finger trolley for laying threads. I tried using my K's lapstand, but it's too much to deal with in a small space, so I just hold the project in my hands.

When doing a charted design, yes, I follow it exactly. If I make a mistake and it doesn't affect other areas of the chart, I'll let it go, otherwise, I'll rip it out. My ort jar has proof of all the times I've ripped something out. LOL.

Not going to seminar this. Have fun in Myrtle Beach!

  4. I love the finger trolley all the time. Small project & no lap stand sounds easier. I meant do you follow the needle chart & use only the exact recommended needle for that thread? Let's not talk about ripping!

  5. Hi Melita, I use the needle chart as a guide only. It has been helpful and I've learned what needles work best for various threads and canvases. I'm not breaking needles so much anymore LOL.

  6. Ok, you were getting broken needles. Now I understand. Thanks
